Seeking a meticulous, detail-oriented mindset and experienced Software Verification Test Engineer to perform hands-on testing of our medical device software and ensure full compliance with quality and regulatory standards. Experience in test automation is a strong plus.
About the Role
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan, develop, and execute manual software verification tests for medical device software, including user interface, functionality, performance, and error-handling tests.
- Review and analyze software requirements, specifications, and design documents to create comprehensive and traceable test plans and procedures.
- Perform integration, system, and regression testing in simulated and hardware-in-the-loop environments.
- Document and manage test cases, results, and defect reports following medical device software lifecycle standards (IEC 62304).
- Work closely with software development, systems engineering, and quality teams to ensure thorough verification of all software deliverables.
- Use GitHub or similar version control tools to track test artifacts and ensure configuration control.
- Support verification documentation and evidence for regulatory submissions and quality audits.
- Participate in reviews, risk analyses, and continuous improvement activities supporting software quality assurance.
- Experience with verifying applications authored in C#, .NET, Windows UI based applications is a strong plus.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field. Course work in Physics and Mathematics is desired.
- 2+ years of experience in software verification or software testing for regulated products, preferably in medical devices but open to aviation, energy, telecom, research fields as well.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated experience performing manual testing of complex applications and embedded systems.
- Strong understanding of medical device software development processes (IEC 62304, ISO 13485, ISO 14971).
- Working knowledge of GitHub or similar version control systems.
- Excellent skills in writing clear, detailed test cases, procedures, and reports.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Curious, creative, and inquisitive, with a humanistic perspective and a passion for interactive, exploratory and experiential testing.
- Solid grasp of unit test frameworks, familiarity with DevOps principles, and hands-on experience using GitHub.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in test automation is a strong plus.
Pay range and compensation package
Based on experience, the annual salary range for this position is $120,000 to $150,000. Candidates with highly relevant backgrounds, particularly those with experience in the medical device industry, may be considered at a higher compensation level.
